** Acoustic Guitar Stars Team Up for Next Installment of Acclaimed Tour **
New York, NY, June 27 -- The celebrated and successful “Guitar Masters” tour
hits the road again for 21 U.S. shows this Fall. Headliner Andy McKee will be
joined by Stephen Bennett and Antoine Dufour to give fans another chance to
see three of the most popular, talented, innovative and musically rich acoustic
guitar players and composers in contemporary music coming together to perform
and interact on stage.
The trek is sure to be another unforgettable musical experience for concert-goers
that unites guitar virtuosos known their awesome skills, technique, gift for song
composition and melody and drawing out the full musicality of the solo acoustic
guitar to near-orchestral dimensions. Creative sparks, one-time only stunning
improvisations and mutual inspiration are sure to abound as they come together
at the end of every show to offer a value-added concert bill that appeals to fans
of many musical styles as well as guitar aficionados.
ANDY MCKEE is one of the world’s finest solo acoustic guitarists and his crossover
success to more than 150 million YouTube viewers underscores his
emergence as one of the most important and popular artists to surface in years.
To fans of virtuoso musicianship it is Andy’s attention to song structure and
melodic content that elevates him above the rest. To fans of popular music Andy
entertains both the eye and the ear as he magically transforms the steel string
guitar into full orchestra via his use of altered tunings, tapping, partial capos,
percussive hits and signature two-handed technique. Andy was the cover story of
Acoustic Guitar's January 2011 issue and is currently the June cover story of
Acoustic Magazine in the UK. His latest release is the CD/DVD package Joyland.
STEPHEN BENNETT is an extraordinary musician, an acknowledged master of
the harp guitar, a challenging teacher, a gifted composer, and a performer of
astounding sensitivity. The Toronto Fingerstyle Guitar Association calls him “the
Jedi Master of Fingerstyle Guitar.” Whether playing his great-grandfather’s harp
guitar, slide on his 1930 National resonator guitar, or on a standard six-string,
Stephen Bennett is a musician to hear. His music has won awards and critical praise. In live performance and on record, his diverse musical influences and
interests are joined in a life-long love affair with the sound of guitar strings.
ANTOINE DUFOUR has emerged as a young star of fingerstyle acoustic guitar,
building a worldwide reputation for innovation and creativity with six albums of
original material released to critical acclaim, two live DVDs, and more than 30
million cumulative views on YouTube. Antoine has toured across Canada and the
UK and toured several times in USA with other artists such as Don Ross and
Andy McKee. In addition, Antoine has performed at major festivals such as The
Montreal International Jazz Festival. |
